She got her first break in JP Dutta's Refuge opposite Abhishek Bachchan. The film didn't do a great business at the box office.
It was not a cake walk for her to make a mark in Bollywood despite being a star kid. She had given series of flop films in the past that includes Muje Kkuch Kehna Hai, Yaadein, Ashoka, Khushi, Mein Prem Ki Deewani hoon and many more.

Now I am glad I did not do the movie.” Rumors however suggested that Kareena Kapoor’s relationship off and on relationship with Hrithik Roshan was also one of the reasons.
